Dear Diary,
This work is a nod to Fragonard’s ‘The Swing’ 1767. I first came across this painting in art school and was immediately intrigued by its theatrical and scandalous charm. There was something delicious about so many secrets layered into one painting.
My reference image was taken on a cute date night with my husband, and in that moment I understood why The Swing has endured. It celebrates love, freedom, and that fleeting rush when the world seems to fall away beneath you.
Love,
Shanay x
