Artist statement:

“Feeling deeply inspired by the Van Gogh Live Exhibition, I spent hours researching Van Gogh’s life to understand the ethereal and dreamy qualities to his work.

I created Stars in your eyes after imagining a tortured Vincent in an asylum staring through barred windows, torn between dreams and reality.

She is smiling because it doesn’t matter if what she sees is real or not; it makes her happy.”

This artwork was exhibited in my solo exhibition, Mid-sentence at Gatakers Artspace in Maryborough, QLD in April - June 2022.

Carefully drawn with high quality artist pencils on the prestigious Magnani 1404 cold pressed fine art paper.
